Lesson 6: Vignetting Effect

Step 2: Set the blending mode for the duplicated layer to Multiply.
Step 3: Select the center area of the image by using Elliptical Marquee Tool.Right click inside the selected area, select feather. Change the radius (approximately 1/12 of the image width).

Lesson 5: Lomography
|
|
| Quote: | | Lomography emphasizes casual, snapshot photography. Accidents such as over-saturated colors, lens artifacts, and exposure defects are rehabilitated to produce swirly, abstract effects — a trait emphasized by practitioners. Others use the technique to document everyday life, because the small camera size and ability to shoot in low light encourages candid photography, photo reportage and photo vérité. |
Step 1: Go to Image > Adjustments > Brightnest/Contrast. Set the contrast to +20.
Step 2: Go to Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation. Set the Saturation to +20.
Step 3: Select the center area of the image by using Rectangular Marque Tool. Right click the selected area, go to feather. Change the radius (approximately 1/12 of the image width).
Step 4: Go to Select > Inverse
Step 5: Set the backgound colour to be Black. Go to Layer > New Fill Layer > Solid Color > OK.
Step 6: Change the layer blend mode to overlay.
Step 7: Duplicate the Fill Layer.
Step 8: Duplicate the original image.
Step 9: Set the background color to white. Choose Gradient Tool.
Step 10: Change the gradient mode to radial. While pressing Shift, drag the Gradient Tool from the center of the image to the left/right
Step 11: Change the layer mode to overlay. Adjust the opacity/fill value at the layer box until desired result is achieved. Flatten the layers.
